December 11 Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius Traits & Famous Names
Birthday Facts
If you were born on December 11, the Sun was on the last day of the second decan of Sagittarius. You sit in Decan 2, ruled by Mars, with the decan handing over to the Sun the next day. That edge gives you the full Mars intensity of the warrior decan, sharpened by the visionary fire of Decan 3 just ahead. You speak boldly. You hold long-term goals. You move toward stages, podiums, and serious public work without flinching.
People born on December 11 carry a public-life pull mixed with a private depth. You like the spotlight when the work is real and you walk away from it when it is empty. You bring poetry and music into your life even if your day job is law, business, or politics. You enjoy travel and you carry your home values with you wherever you go. The Mars decan helps you finish what you start.
The pattern shows up clearly in famous December 11 birthdays. Pranab Mukherjee, born in 1935, served as the thirteenth President of India after a long, principled career across finance and foreign affairs. Rita Moreno, born in 1931, became one of the few performers ever to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, with a Sagittarian career spanning seventy years. Hailee Steinfeld, born in 1996, earned an Oscar nomination at fourteen for True Grit and built a parallel pop music career. Brenda Lee, born in 1944, has sung Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree for over sixty years and remains one of the most successful American singers of all time. Subramania Bharati, born in 1882, wrote some of the most loved Tamil poetry of the twentieth century. Different fields, same chart pattern.
Your strengths show up on long arcs. You can build a career across many fields or stay loyal to one craft for decades. You bring warmth and fire to public work in equal measure. You hold to honest values even when the politics around you shifts. You believe in earning your place and you tend to do it.
Your growth area sits inside the public-facing pull. The Decan 2 chart can take on too much because you can carry it. You can run several big roles at once and pay the cost privately. The December 11 path is to keep your reach while learning to say no to the right things. The longest careers belong to people who choose carefully and then commit fully to the choice.
In love, December 11 Sagittarius wants a partner who values both stage and quiet. Aries matches your fire. Leo brings warmth and shared celebration. Libra adds elegance to your plans. Aquarius gives you the long talks you crave. Gemini and Pisces can stretch you in good ways if both sides keep curiosity above ego.
Many December 11 babies end up in politics, music, acting, poetry, public service, or any field that rewards a long arc of work and a strong public voice.

What Sets December 11 Apart
Sun position across birth years 1940 to 2030: about 18 to 21 degrees Sagittarius
The last stretch of the Mars decan
For December 11 birthdays, the Sun stands between 18 and 20 degrees of Sagittarius. The reading shifts slightly with the year and the hour you arrived. That places you near the far end of the middle ten degrees.
In most years the Sun has not yet reached 20 degrees, so the Mars decan still holds. In a few years it touches 20 degrees late in the day, brushing the Sun decan that begins next. That small overlap adds a warm, outgoing note to the Mars drive.
Ten days before the year turns
About ten degrees of Sagittarius remain ahead of the Sun on this date. That gap equals roughly ten days before the Sun reaches Capricorn at the December solstice. Your birthday lands in the closing third of the sign, when Sagittarius makes its final push.
Sitting this deep in the sign, you have more of the Sagittarius story behind you than ahead. This position gives the date a finishing instinct. Closing one chapter cleanly before the next begins tends to matter to you.
Set between December 10 and December 12
December 10 puts the Sun at 17 to 19 degrees, safely inside the Mars decan. By December 12 it has travelled on to 19 to 21 degrees and often crosses into the Sun decan. December 11 sits between them, holding Mars firmly while the next ruler comes into view.
So your drive keeps its edge, yet your eyes are already on a bigger stage. That mix makes you a strong finisher who still dreams ahead. Few dates in the sign balance closing work and fresh hope so neatly. A helpful habit is resting between pushes, since this date tends to stack one goal right on top of another.
The Three Sagittarius Decans
Each Western sign spans 30 degrees, divided into three 10-degree decans with their own classical sub-ruler. Your decan adds nuance to the broader Sagittarius archetype.
- Decan 1Days 1–10Sub-ruler: Jupiter
Pure Sagittarius. Optimistic, expansive, truth-seeking.
- Decan 2Days 11–20Sub-ruler: Mars
Adventurous warrior. Bold, blunt, ready to move.
Your decan
- Decan 3Days 21–30Sub-ruler: Sun
Visionary leader. Inspires others toward a bigger horizon.
Sagittarius Compatibility
Sagittarius tends to match best with Aries and other signs that share its energy. Sun sign is only the start. Your Moon, Venus, and full birth chart shape how a bond really feels.
