Panchang 19 August 2026: The Midday Is Closed
Today has a hole in the middle of it. Rahu Kaal lands right across noon, Gulika runs up against it, and Wednesday is the one weekday with no Abhijit Muhurat to fall back on. Plan around the midday rather than through it.
Today's Panchang
Shukla Saptami runs until 7:19 PM, then Ashtami begins. The Moon leaves Swati at 6:47 AM and enters Vishakha for the rest of the day. Yoga is Brahma, karana is Garaja. Sunrise is 5:52 AM in Delhi and sunset 6:58 PM. The Moon is 39 percent lit and waxing.
The nakshatra changes before most people finish their first cup of tea, so the day reads as Vishakha almost from the start. Vishakha is the star of the fixed target. It gives drive, and it holds an aim until the aim is met.
Brahma yoga is read as a good window for study and for work that needs a clear head.
The Midday Windows
Rahu Kaal runs 12:25 PM to 2:03 PM. Gulika runs 10:46 AM to 12:25 PM, straight into it. That is three and a half unbroken hours through the middle of the day.
Abhijit Muhurat normally covers the noon hour and can carry a decision even when other windows are crowded. It is not available on Wednesdays. So today there is nothing to fall back on across that block.
Yamaganda takes 7:30 AM to 9:08 AM as well.
What is left is clean and easy to use. From 9:08 AM to 10:46 AM, and from 2:03 PM through to sunset at 6:58 PM. Put signings, first calls, and any purchase into one of those two. Live times for today are on the panchang for 19 August 2026.
What Saptami Asks
Shukla Saptami is a working tithi. The fortnight is filling, the Moon is not yet half, and no fast that most households keep falls today. Use it for the ordinary business that piles up during a festival month.
Vishakha suits that well. Pick the one thing you have been circling for a fortnight and close it. Put it in the afternoon window, which gives the longer clean run.
Wednesday belongs to Budh (Mercury), which favours writing, accounts, and talk. Another reason to keep the day for paperwork rather than a launch. To see how it lands for your own Moon sign, the daily rashifal breaks it down by rashi.
Five Days to the Last Somvar
Monday 24 August is the fourth and final Sawan Somvar of 2026. Sawan then closes at Purnima on 28 August. If you have kept the vrat this month, plan around it. If you have not started, one Monday kept fully is still worth keeping. The dates and the method are on the Sawan 2026 guide.
Wearing the Bead
Sawan is the traditional month to put a rudraksha on for the first time. That is living practice, not something the books set down. The Shiva Purana traces the bead to tear-drops that fell from Shivji's half-closed eyes.
Every Naksham bead is an Original Nepal rudraksha, hand selected, and each bead is lab certified on its own, with a free lab X-ray certificate at every price. If you would rather wear it on the wrist than at the throat, the silver-plated rudraksha bracelet is the plainest way to start.
